Danny Rolling lay on a gurney. A prison official asked Florida 's most notorious serial killer since Ted Bundy if he had a last statement. Rolling responded with a twangy hymn, apparently self-penned. "He who flung the stars into heavens above, created the oceans, mountains, eagles and doves," he sang. "None greater than thee, Oh Lord, none greater than thee." Family members of his eight victims - five in Florida and three he was linked to in Louisiana - clutched each other, rolled their eyes or shook their heads. One family member later ...

If true, the allegations against Lorena Loren, the former director of the St. Clair Housing Commission , are disturbing on a number of levels. Federal investigators allege Loren embezzled more than $300,000 from the housing commission between 2008 and 2016, when she retired. Most heartbreaking is that the money that Loren allegedly misdirected into her own pockets and those of some of her family members was meant to help low income people afford decent housing . Stealing from poor people is a special kind of despicable. Stealing from low- income families to buy a range of goods worth $165,000 and ranging from beauty supplies to alcoholic beverages, which investigators say Loren did with a housing commission credit card , is lower than despicable. Beside abusing the credit card, investigators say Loren abused Section 8 housing vouchers to pay herself and family members rent for apartments and tenants that didn’t exist and to pay themselves to live in their own dwellings. 2:30 p.m. Norberta LaFontaine-Greywind sends her 16-year-old son to the upstairs apartment to get his sister, who was to drive him to work. Her brother knocks on the door, but no one answers. He hears what he thinks is a sewing machine running in the apartment. Savanna's father, Joe Greywind, then knocks on the upstairs apartment door . A woman answers the door and says Savanna will be a bit longer. 2:40 p.m. Norberta LaFontaine-Greywind drives her son to work. She returns to the apartment building about 3:15 p.m. and, assuming her daughter is in her room, does some laundry. About 4:30 p.m. Norberta LaFontaine-Greywind knocks on the upstairs apartment door and is told that her daughter has left. Savanna's mother then calls Fargo police to report her daughter missing. ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Police in Arlington say they’re looking for answers in what they have determined is a double murder on the city’s north side. Two bodies were found at the Stone Canyon Apartments just before noon Saturday. “Nothing points to a murder-suicide, it appears this is a double homicide ,” according to Arlington police Lt . Christopher Cook. Police say a family member discovered the victims. A door was partly open. An adult man and adult woman were dead inside. “It appears potentially that the apartment had been ransacked inside and so we’re waiting for the medical examiner and some of our other detectives to make the scene before we actually process the inside of the scene,” said Lt. Cook. As they waited, officers talked to grieving family members to determine who the victims are, if they even lived in the apartment, and if anyone might want to harm them.
