JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) — Plans are taking shape in Jackson to bring more than 100 new apartments to the downtown area. The downtown Jackson skyline is undergoing a big transformation. Four apartment building projects are in the works, one of which is already under construction. It’s the downtown development that Jackson has been waiting for. “One of the big things we’re trying to accomplish is getting more apartments downtown ,” said City of Jackson Public Information Officer Will Forgrave. The Lofts on Louis development, which is located on Louis Glick Highway , is currently being constructed. When it’s finished, the building will have 30 apartments on the upper floors and businesses on the first floor. Different developers also want to place another apartment building on Jackson Street next to the lofts. It’s still in the planning stages. ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Authorities in Lehigh County have arrested a 44-year-old who allegedly broke into a house and stole TVs from a senior housing complex and an apartment building over a roughly five-day span. Allentown police charged Alex Fernandez , no confirmable address, in connection with the 2016 thefts from a Jackson Street home , Episcopal House and Bridgeview Apartments . District Judge David Howells Jr . arraigned Fernandez early Wednesday morning on three sets of charges, setting bail at a combined $38,000. A homeowner in the 900 block of Jackson Street reported to police that someone broke into his house sometime between April 27 and May 2, 2016, by climbing a rear fire escape and breaking a window, according to court records. The thief made off with a compressor and hammer drill worth about $1,100 and caused $150 in damage, according to records. ALTUS, OK (KSWO)- George Butler, 18 of Altus, has been arrested- police believe he is responsible for a shooting on May 30th. Butler was arrested Friday night on a warrant for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. On June 5th, the weapon used in the shooting was recovered from a home on North Julian Street . There was a shooting at Ridgecrest Apartments in Altus the evening of May 30th around 9:00 p.m. Altus Police responded to reports that a man was shot. Two victims arrived at an area hospital by private vehicle a short time later. According to investigators, a man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in a breezeway of the Union Circle Apartments following a physical altercation between the suspect and victims. A juvenile also received injuries to his hands. The condition of the victims is unknown at this time. Their identities have not been released.
