Related Content SANTA MARIA, Calif. - An officer- involved shooting in Los Angeles County has left a murder suspect connected to an Amber Alert out of Santa Maria dead Tuesday night .  48-year-old Konstantin Morozov was taken to the hospital in critical condition but police confirmed he died from his injuries during a press briefing. The shooting occurred in Tarzana, California just before 7 p.m. The Santa Maria Police Department said it received a tip Tuesday morning that Morozov was in an apartment located in the 5500 block of Lindley Avenue in Tarzana/Encino. "We had a variety of tips whether they were due to the Amber Alert of from folks just seeing cars or people looking that seem similar and talking to everyone involved--family members or otherwise. Police: Man breaks patrol car window with headforce | Local News

A College Station man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police say he was arrested on an assault charge and then used his head to bust out a window in a police vehicle. According to College Station police , a woman called around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday and reported she could hear fighting coming from next door. Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Southwest Parkway and found a man with a broken jaw. Police arrested a 24-year-old man. Police say as they were preparing to place the man into a patrol car, an officer tried to remove his necklace, which is a standard policy. A report notes the man became combative and as he thrashed about, he bashed his skull into the passenger window of the patrol vehicle , which created a six-inch hole in the glass. The man is charged with assault family violence and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. The man is being held in the Brazos County Jail on $7,000 bond.

9-year-old boy abducted in Santa Maria found safe, California Highway Patrol says

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- A 9-year-old Santa Maria boy who was suspected of being abducted by his father has been found safe, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday. Around midnight, an Amber Alert was issued in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties . The Santa Maria Police Department said Daniel Morozov was believed to be taken by his father, 48-year-old Konstantin Morozov shortly before 9 p.m. Monday. Police had responded to a fatal shooting in the 200 block of N. College Drive in Santa Maria and found a person dead. As a result of an investigation at that scene, the Amber Alert was issued, according to Santa Maria police . Authorities said that Morozov is a suspect in the death of the 9-year-old's mother. The suspect was last seen driving a blue 2015 Volkswagen Golf hatchback , police said. It was later found abandoned in Santa Maria. OVIEDO, Fla. - New video was released Wednesday in connection with a crash near the University of Central Florida in which a student was killed. Austin Ekern, 20, who attended Florida State University and was the son of a longtime UCF staff member , was run over and killed Friday on Alafaya Trail near McCulloch Road. "I have a 20-year-old son who is in the prime of his life and it was taken in an instant," Brent Ekern, Austin's father, told News 6. The video, obtained from a nearby apartment complex , shows a white van and black car traveling through the area, and the Florida Highway Patrol said it believes the black car struck Austin Ekern and knocked him down onto Alafaya Trail.  Troopers said that up to a minute later a pickup truck ran over Austin Ekern, killing him. The driver of the pickup stopped and told authorities that he had not seen Austin Ekern in the road. Texas mom facing eviction stays at apartment

The Arlington mother and her children at the center of a controversial arrest July 3 are staying at their apartment, despite an eviction notice that told them to leave by Thursday, their attorney said. “She will be staying here until she is forcibly removed,” attorney Kim T. Cole said at a news conference outside the Addison Park apartments in Arlington. “She has nowhere to go. She’s not from here. There’s no reason in voluntarily making her and her five children homeless.” Cole said Latasha Nelson and her children will stay at the apartment until Addison Park management returns with a court order to move forward with the eviction. Addison Park management has not responded to requests for comment. The controversy stems from the arrests of Nelson’s teenage sons July 3 . Police had responded to the apartments, where a witness had reported that Nelson’s 14-year-old son burglarized a vehicle. Los Angeles Police Department officials confirmed Tuesday night that Morozov was shot at 6:45 p.m. by officers in the city of Encino.
