Police: 3 teens involved in fatal shooting in Westchester

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Police in a New York City suburb have charged three teenagers in connection with a fatal shooting.

The Journal News reports (http://lohud.us/2ijQUR5 ) a 16-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offenses including first-degree manslaughter. The teen's 18-year-old brother and another 18-year-old man both face charges of criminal possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence.

Police say the three teens were involved in the fatal shooting of Joseph Smith III, of Greenburgh. Investigators say Smith was shot to death in the stairwell of a Greenburgh apartment complex Thursday. Police say the Smith was targeted by the suspects.

According to authorities, police recovered a gun at the apartment of one of the suspects after obtaining a search warrant. The suspects were arrested Friday.
