NORTH RIDGEVILLE - Mayor David Gillock, four members of City Council and several representatives from the Chamber of Commerce turned out for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting July 27 at the new Ridgecrest apartments.

Gillock said the apartments, located on Bagley Road between the Ohio Turnpike and the Olmsted Township border, are a welcome addition to the community, attracting professionals and teachers as residents.

The new development helped pay for the extension of sewers to the area and also for repaving the section of Bagley Road near the complex. Both projects have benefited other neighboring residents, the mayor said.

The first apartments, consisting of 76 individual, single-story units with an attached two-car garage, recently were completed and are renting.

Property developer Redwood Management Co. plans to increase the size of the community to 153 apartments, said David Conwill, chief development officer.

“It was great working with the city of North Ridgeville,” Conwill said. “The collaboration and support we received from the city immensely contributed to bringing this highly anticipated, single-story luxury apartment community to fruition.”

The apartments are being marketed to empty-nesters, retirees and young professionals, according to the company.
