SENECA, SC (WSPA) — Police are investigating a double shooting at an apartment complex.

Officers responded to a shooting at Springbrook Apartments shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday.

Police Chief John Covington said it appears the shooting occurred inside a vehicle at the apartment complex. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived, but was later found at another location in the city.

One shooting victim was with the vehicle and the other shooting victim had already been taken to a hospital.

Police say one person was shot four times – three times in the leg and once in the arm – and has been taken to Greenville Health System where they are in stable condition and expected to recover.

The other victim was shot in the chest and has been treated and released, according to police. Police say after his release from the hospital, he was charged in connection to the shooting.

Austin Tyrell Cousins, 24, has been charged with attempted murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

The shooting was drug related, according to Seneca police.

They say the other victim could face charges after his release from the hospital.
