A man and women are injured after they were shot by an acquaintance outside of an apartment complex on Westpark.
The couple drove by Sunridge Apartments in the 10000 block of Westpark near S. Gessner when a man opened fire at their car from the complex entrance around 1 a.m. Thursday, according to Houston police officers at the scene.
The man - whom the couple said they knew - lived in the complex.
He appeared to have been waiting for them. Prior to the gunfire, he was sitting in his car at the complex's gates. He aimed out of the window of the vehicle, police said.
The man shot multiple rounds, hitting both the man and woman who were driving by.
Both had minor gunshot wounds. The injured man drove to a nearby convenience store where he called 911. The couple were taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
Officers did not immediately release the suspected shooter's name or his motive for firing at the couple.
