Mariah Carey Reveals the Story Behind Her Legendary “Heartbreaker” Jeans

It’s funny to think that Mariah Carey’s “Heartbreaker”-video look is almost two decades old, given just how right that late-’90s fashion moment seems for now. “We ripped the top of them,” said Carey, who still has the faded jeans. “I hated the way they were so high-waisted. My friend was like, ‘Yo, where did you get those?!’ ”

The superstar has plenty more sartorial memories inside the immaculate closet of her three-level Tribeca apartment, which she opened up exclusively for Vogue.
