Young professional likes pet-friendliness of Bridgeview Apartments

Wanting to live in an apartment community that was pet friendly in downtown Cleveland, Melanie Pinkerton looked at several places before visiting Bridgeview Apartments in the trendy Warehouse District.
She immediately felt comfortable there and was especially impressed with the management and friendliness of the staff. “The staff is amazing,” she said. “Everybody is welcoming, helpful and attentive to the residents’ needs. It felt like a good fit.”
The apartment is “a perfect size for me, for a home office and my dogs.” She has two Chihuahuas – Papi, a 13-year-old male, and Coco, a nine-year-old female – that she walks three times a day. “My dogs are extremely important to me.”
Her 1,029-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bath suite “has an exposed brick wall with two huge warehouse windows that look up to the Terminal Tower.” She likes to watch the colors of the Terminal Tower change at night and often takes pictures.  From her other window, which looks out over Jacobs Pavilion in the Flats, she can watch and hear concerts. “It’s fun!”
She appreciates the sense of safety and security that she feels in the building, the diversity of the residents, and the ability to network with other young professionals. Bridgeview’s management organizes social activities for its residents that include sporting events, holiday parties and other building get-togethers. The Warehouse District Association also hosts events to get residents together throughout the year.
Bridgeview’s rooftop deck is a popular meeting place in the summer. “I spend a lot of time up there when it’s hot. It has the most amazing view of downtown from all directions – the lake, Terminal Tower and the city. The Fourth of July fireworks are amazing to watch from up there.” She and other residents enjoyed watching the filming of Captain America from the rooftop.
“I can walk to everything that I need from my apartment – shopping, sporting events, the Horseshoe Casino and my favorite restaurants.”
Pinkerton, 40, sells medical equipment for Philips Healthcare. She travels about 40 to 60 percent of the time, calling on clients on the East Coast and in the Mid-Atlantic region, including Baltimore, Washington, Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
A native of Minerva, Ohio, near Canton, she majored in criminology at Ohio State University. She worked as a social worker after graduating, then went into sales.
She likes to spend time with her family in Minerva, try new restaurants, go to museums, read history and travel. She recently vacationed with friends in the Dominican Republic, saying, “It is a beautiful place to visit.” She enjoyed the tropical climate and coming home with a suntan in November.
Located at 1300 West 9th St., Bridgeview Apartments offers 247 one-, two- and three-bedroom lofts that have been renovated in a historic warehouse built between 1911 and 1918. Landmark RE Management manages the apartment community.
