Review: Otto’s Suite At Sherborne House In The Cotswolds

Otto’s Suite is set within the majestic Sherborne House in the Cotswolds, a building steeped in history dating back to the 17th Century. Step inside this elegant home-come-hotel and you will be immersed in history and style.

Location

Sherborne Manor is a piece of history deep in the Cotswolds. The village within which the Manor sits is largely owned by the National Trust – the cottages and buildings are classic Cotswolds and terribly pretty. The village shop and tea room is a hive of activity and is well worth a visit.

Northleach, which is approx 5 miles away has a small selection of shops and one of the best pubs in the whole of the Cotswolds – The Wheatsheaf which is well worth a visit. Burford is 7 miles away with a larger selection of shops and country pubs.

There are plenty more beautiful villages nearby and local attractions which should keep you busy and occupied.

Otto’s Suite

This ground floor apartment is a sleek and luxurious a bolt hole in the Cotswolds. The entrance is through the main building front door to the foyer. The inside of the apartment is both stylish and cosy, designed by its’ artistic owners. The main space houses a double bed (4’6in) with a super comfy Hypnos mattress, a flat screen TV with Freeview which also comes connected for wifi viewing. The kitchen has all you need, including a Nespresso coffee machine and the bathroom has a powerful shower to freshen you up for the day ahead.

The suite looks out towards an enclosed Quad, which is beautifully manicured and very peaceful.

Service & Facilities

Outside you have free reign of the gardens and grounds. There are acres to enjoy and walk, along with a swimming pool and tennis court. Usefully, there is ample parking, about 30 seconds walk from the suite.

At Sherborne House, you are also surrounded by some of the finest country walks in the Cotswolds, so DO bring your walking shoes. Some of the walks take you along the River Windrush which is a truly picturesque spot. The villages that lead along the Windrush Valley are similarly stunning including Windrush, Great and Little Barrington and Farmington in the other direction.

Food & Drink

You are within a short drive (taxis can be ordered) from some seriously good pubs for lunch and dinner. For the fashionistas you can head to Daylesford Organic Shop where you will find a treasure trove of treats.

Otto’s Suite at Sherborne House is secluded and uber romantic. If you are looking for a private retreat dripping in history, located in the centre of one of the prettiest parts of the Cotswolds, this is it.

Bloober Team’s Observer is here and it’s pretty darn great . Set almost exclusively in an apartment building, the game has you explore the lives of multiple residents living within Kraków slums (AKA The Stacks).
