Man charged in Oak Tree Villa robbery | Crime

A Hopkinsville man was charged with first-degree robbery in connection with an August 16th robbery on Oak Tree Villa Drive.

Mikale J. Swindler, 18, and Martres L. Washington-Day, 20, told police Demarquavion T. Merritt, 19, who was armed with a handgun and walked up behind their vehicle and got into a fight with them before he robbed them, according to Hopkinsville police.

Police said the robbery led them to charge Swindler and Washington-Day with trafficking in marijuana (under 5 lbs.) and possession of drug paraphernalia after they were allegedly found to have 1,460.5 grams of marijuana, $2,863.00, two AR-15 rifles, loaded magazines, ammunition, digital scales and electronic packaging devices in the apartment.
