Troopers seek driver after FSU student struck, killed near UCF
A man struck and killed last Friday at the intersection of North Alafaya Trail and Econ River Place, near the University of Central Florida may have been hit by several vehicles.
Troopers initially reported that Austin Ekern, 20, was struck by a pickup driven by Lawrence Wood, 66, of Orlando. Wood stopped, along with one of Ekern's former classmates, to render aid.

Troopers said a surveillance video from Riverwind at Alafaya Trail, an apartment complex, shows a dark sedan and a white van zoom by Ekhern less than a minute earlier as he stands in the traffic lane.
Troopers said one or both vehicles may have struck him.
The dark vehicle's driver stopped and spoke with troopers after the student was struck, but is looking to reinterview him.
The white van's driver did not stop, but if the vehicle did not make contact with Ekern, no crime was committed.
On her Facebook page, Ekern's mother, UCF vice president Sharon Ekern, posted: "Please help the FHP find the drivers of these two vehicles, one of which hit my precious son and left him laying in the road. Austin could very well be alive today if it weren't for this monster."
Troopers are still investigating what happened in the incident.
