Woodmere apartment shooting marks 24th Montgomery homicide of the year
According to the report, police arrived on the scene at 1400 Stonehendge Place at 4:30 p.m. to find a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene, making the shooting Montgomery's 24th homicide of the year.
Montgomery Police Department spokesman Captain Ron Cook told the newspaper that a couple pulled into the apartment, got out of their car and began arguing with another couple. The woman from the couple at the apartment then went inside of an apartment to get a gun, according to the report.
WSFA reports that the woman shot the man from the arriving couple when he attempted to point her hand carrying the gun away from his body, but failed when she turned around to shoot him one time in the chest.
Capitan Cook, who tells the Advertiser that investigators are unclear as to what the argument was about, said that the 30-year-old alleged female shooter was taken into custody at the scene.
WSFA reports that one other person was also taken in to custody, but names of the suspects have not been released.
