Two Of Osaka Trio Apologise Over Lodge Incident

KUALA LUMPUR: Two of the three Malaysian youths who came under heavy fire from Malaysian netizens over their unruly behaviour during their stay at a Osaka lodge recently, made an open apology via social media.

The two, known by their social media handles as Ramadhan Sinclair and Ku Hidayat Kamal, were insistent that they were not responsible for the excrement found in the shower after they checked out of the lodge.

Ramadhan, especially who received the brunt of criticism from netizens over his bad manners and harsh words, said he wished to apologise to all over the incident.

"I wish to apologise to all Malaysians especially to Qaiyum (in blue shirt) for the violence and my harsh words.

"Me and my two friends will also take responsibility to compensate the management (of the Vitti Lodge and Family Apartment) for the damages (which we have caused).

"I also apologise on behalf of the person who defecated in the shower, although I myself have no idea who the person was. However, it is up to you whether to believe or not," he said in a brief statement which posted in his Facebook and Instagram handle.

Ramadhan also said he is determined to be a better person and to behave properly, having learned from the incident.

Meanwhile, Hidayat, who was was shown vandalising the lodge by kicking a table and punching a hole in the wall, said that he failed to control his emotions, as he was under pressure due to financial difficulties during the incident.

"As you can see in the video clip, I only appear in the last few minutes of the scene. I had no idea what were they arguing about.

"I tried to advise them to stop quarrelling but they ignored me.

"I could not control my emotion at that time due to the problem that I was facing. I was keeping my feelings to myself," said Hidayat in an eight-minute video which was posted on the Vitti Lodge and Family Apartment Facebook page.

The three Malaysian youths come under heavy criticisms from the netizens after lodge owner, Ema Vitti shared the video clip on the incident on his Facebook page on Friday out of frustration. The video clip was also shared on the Vitti Lodge and Family Apartment Facebook page.

Vitty, through the lodge's Facebook page, posted that he had previously considered banning Malaysians following the incident.

However, he chnaged his mind and decided to continue welcoming Malaysians after taking into consideration the fact that he employs many Malaysians at his hostel and restaurant, and most of his patrons are also from Malaysia.

He has also decided against lodging a police report against the trio over the incident.

Vitti said the trio’s action had forced the lodge’s employee to fork out ¥130,000 (RM5,1104) from of his own pocket as compensation for the damages.
