Man shot as he drove by Fort Worth drug house, police say

A man was shot and critically wounded Wednesday night as he drove by what authorities called a “known drug house,” police said.

The motorist drove to an apartment complex where he sought help.

The man was listed in critical condition.

Police responded to the shooting call shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 4300 block of Montecito Way at the Meridian Apartments.

Officers determined the victim was driving by the house on North Elm Street when an unknown man armed with assault rifle walked out of the residence and opened fire.

The motorist was hit in the abdomen, police said.

The victim was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
