But finding something Brown, 22, could afford near the Lockheed Martin facility on Sand Lake Road was another matter. At $950 a month, even a small one-bedroom apartment was out of reach for the University of Central Florida graduate . At that price, she would have been spending much more than a third of her salary on rent. "I was definitely surprised by the prices," Brown said. "The market soared out of my reach." Internet speed is worst and many of my friends including myself complaine … d about the same. We need to be in 12 months contract with ATT internet and no other internet options like Xfinity. I am very happy to be in this apartment by renewing the lease for 1 more year but really worried with Att service. Manager Jennifer is so kind and understand all of your concerns. ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The Orlando tourist strip known most for attracting conventioneers and thrill-seeking visitors — International Drive — is getting another identity. In recent years, thousands of full-time residents have moved into apartments built on the southern end of the 11-mile corridor, which has been renowned for industry gatherings, shopping and attractions. Plans call for thousands more renters — and schools. "It's kind of the rebranding of I-Drive right now," said Luann Brooks, executive director of the I- Drive Business Improvement District . Developers could break ground on at least three multifamily housing complexes this year in and around Lombard, village officials say. Bill Heniff, director of community development, said numerous apartment ideas have been brought to the village in recent months -- including the possibility of a 120-unit building being constructed on the site of the old DuPage Theatre -- but only three have completed, or are close to completing, the entitlement process. If those three projects are built, Lombard will be home to 547 new rental units and 100 new townhouse units. Rather than sleeping in a cramped dorm room, Wolter shares a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with three other freshmen.  The residence comes with amenities one would expect in a luxury apartment, such as a balcony, a full kitchen with a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, and free parking. There's also a pool and fitness center across the street. Rent-wise, it's pretty good (but then again, the less amenities, the lower the rent). Landscaping looks decent and is well maintained. No central a/c (it's also old-looking, and the air flow is poor), no swimming pool (the owners had it covered). Old kitchen unit. The only ceiling fan is in the dining room. Apartments have aluminum windows (doesn't help much when it's hot outside). The tenants are nice, the complex is mostly noise-free (this apt complex is not ideal for people who like to party and be loud). Unfortunately, maintenance employees aren 't around all the time and it could sometimes take more than a day for them to fix any problem you might have. Floor level apartments seem to have lizard and cockroach problems (I'm on the 2nd floor and have only seen a couple of spiders, and a house centipede). Office employees rarely answer their phone.
