The manhunt continued Thursday for the shooter who killed a 22-year-old man at an apartment complex near the University of Central Florida on Wednesday. Colin Marcel Jackson was identified Thursday as the man found dead inside an apartment at Campus Crossing Alafaya about 6:30 p.m., officials said. "Witnesses reported seeing the victim and an unknown black male involved in an altercation prior to hearing the shots," said Lourdes Clayton, spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff 's Office. Jackson was not a UCF student and it's unclear if he lived in the apartment complex, officials said. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Jackson's criminal history includes a Dec. 30 arrest at same apartment complex on the following charges: aggravated assault with a firearm, armed burglary of dwelling with a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft. Man shot by Eden police officer (Photo: WFMY News 2) EDEN, N.C. -- Eden Police say officers shot a man accused of stabbing a 44-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter on Thursday afternoon.  According to the Rockingham County Sheriff 's Department, Eden Police and Rockingham County Sheriff 's Deputies responded to a call at Brownstone Commons apartments where the woman and child were assaulted.  When officers arrived, they found the woman and child had been stabbed by a man who ran away from the scene.  Officers found a man matching the suspect description near Knott Street and New Street and confronted him. The sheriff's office says officers shot the man during that confrontation.  The suspect was taken to Baptist Hospital for treatment. The mother and daughter were also taken to the hospital for treatment.  SBI is investigating, which is standard for officer-involved shootings.  All officers involved in the incident are okay, according to Eden Police.  WFMY News 2 ...

ALBANY, Ga. - Three Georgia children, who were the subject of a child abduction alert Wednesday night , have been found safe in Florida.  A Levi's Call, Georgia's Amber Alert system was activated just after 7 p.m. for a mother and three children, ages 4 to 7, after police said they were abducted from the Rivercrest Apartments located at 525 Don Cutler Sr . Drive in Albany. Clarion M. Garrison, 28, was taken into custody by the Marion County Sheriff 's Office just after 9 p.m. near Ocala. She turned herself into authorities after deputies discovered her three children and two of her relatives in her car in front of relative’s home located in the 3200 block of NE 47th Terrace in Ocala. Deputies booked Garrison into jail on an outstanding warrant in Georgia. Investigators from Albany said they will be traveling down to see her Thursday morning. SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- - UPDATE: Springdale Police have determined that the suspect they are searching for in a deadly Monday night shooting was roommates with the victim.  The two lived together in the Chapel Ridge Apartments in Springdale.  The victim has been identified as Rwabuzisoni Daniel, a 21-year-old male from Burundi.  Police are still searching for the suspect, but said a warrant has been issued for Capital Murder.  Our original reporting is below.  Springdale Police are searching for a man after a deadly shooting Monday night . A suspect and two witnesses in a Friday shooting in Benton City have fled the state. The Benton County Sheriff ’s Office said in a news release that Christian Michael Hernandez , 24, is headed to Southern California. Jazmin Marie Torres , 25, and Francisco Morales Jr ., 24, are said to be with him. Hernandez is suspected of shooting Mariah Renee Coronado , 22. The woman was shot in the back with a rifle and found in her apartment. Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Brockman said deputies spoke to Coronado on Saturday and that “everything’s pointing to it being an accident.” However, Brockman said, Hernandez is a convicted felon. That automatically bars him from touching a gun. An acquaintance picked up Coronado from her apartment at 703 8th Street and rushed her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center . She’s still being treated for her injuries. Sheriff Jerry Hatcher said that Hernandez, also known as “Phat Boy” or “Lil Criminal,” fled in a 2012 beige Chevy Malibu sedan with a temporary license plate . ...

EDEN, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a North Carolina police officer shot and wounded a suspect fleeing the scene of a double stabbing. Eden Police Department Capt . John Edwards tells local news outlets that officers and Rockingham County sheriff 's deputies responded at 2:30 p.m. Thursday to a reported assault at an apartment complex. Officers had been told that a 44-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child had been stabbed. A man suspected in the stabbings had fled on foot. Edwards says officers found the suspect on a nearby street and that officers shot him during the confrontation. He was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The stabbing victims were treated at a local hospital . Edwards says the woman, child and stabbing suspect all survived their injuries. No other information was immediately released.

A “person of interest” in the recent shooting of a woman at a Benton City apartment was arrested Thursday in Pasco. Christian M. Hernandez, 24, was picked up at 6:30 p.m. by the Benton County sheriff ’s gang enforcement team . Hernandez, who’s also known as “Lil Criminal” and “Phat Boy,” is being held on investigation of illegal gun possession and a hold from the state Department of Corrections. Mariah Coronado, 22, was shot in the back Aug. 18 at an apartment at Eighth Street and Della Avenue. Several other people were in the apartment at the time. Investigators have said it wasn’t clear if the shooting was an accident. Coronado was picked up by an acquaintance and driven to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Deputies responded to the hospital after being alerted by medical staff about a gunshot victim. Hernandez is a convicted felon who is not allowed to own or be in control of a gun. August 12, 2017 : A disturbing video was livestreamed yesterday – showing a man finding an abandoned baby – outside of the projects in Houston. Here’s the video: And here’s how the local ABC news station is reporting on the incident: Deputies credit a man living at the apartment for finding the newborn before going to work. “I looked down. I said, ‘Oh, man, there is a baby right here,'” said Albert Peterson, who found the girl. “The baby was brand new.” The muffled cries of the child caught Peterson ’s attention. “I picked the baby up, and the baby had mucus and blood and all kinds of stuff all over her body,” Peterson said. “When I seen her, I seen ants and stuff all over.
