MILTON, Wash. — A police officer opened fire and killed a gunman Monday after the man fatally shot his stepsister he was holding next to him in the parking lot of the Sunridge Apartments in Milton, police said. “Evidence recovered thus far indicated this was likely a ‘murder-suicide by cop’ incident,” a Milton Police Department news release said Monday night. Milton police officers responded at about 2 p.m. to a report of a man with a gun near a woman in the parking lot of the Sunridge Apartments at 6926 5th Street East in Milton. “It appeared the male suspect in this case had his arm wrapped around the female. They were engaged in some type of conversation,” said Puyallup police spokesman Scott Engle . A Milton police sergeant and officer challenged the man to put down his weapon. “At that point, the male suspect shot the female and she went down,” Engle said. SAN ANTONIO - A man was shot multiple times and later died early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex on the Northeast Side , San Antonio police said. Late Wednesday morning , the man was identified as 20-year-old Deandre Thompson. Officers initally responded to a call for shots fired around 2:30 a.m. at the Whispering Hills Apartments in the 13600 block of O'Connor Road. Police found Thompson and said he had been shot three times in the chest and once in the neck. He was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment, but pronounced dead just after 3 a.m. Witnesses tell police they saw two men run from the apartment to another complex nearby after shots were fired. No arrests had been made as of noon on Wednesday. "It scares me because this neighborhood, this complex has never been like that and it's getting real scary," said resident Josie Arredando . YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP , Mich. (AP) - Prosecutors say no charges will be brought after a 3-year-old boy was fatally shot last year by a 10-year-old boy at an apartment complex in southeastern Michigan. The Ann Arbor News reports Washtenaw County prosecutors determined they couldn’t establish intent for charges against the boy who shot Jamari L. Moore in Ypsilanti Township . Investigators earlier described the Nov. 13 shooting as an accident. The newspaper says the gun’s owner also won’t face charges. Prosecutors determined they couldn’t prove gross negligence for a charge of involuntary manslaughter. Police found the child shot after being called to Country Meadows Apartments , where Jamari was staying at the apartment of his mother’s boyfriend. A 9-year-old boy abducted by his father after the slaying of his mother – which prompted an Amber Alert – was in protective custody Wednesday after police shot and killed the man in Encino. The officer- involved shooting occurred about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday on the 5500 block of Lindley Avenue near Killion Street, said Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Justin Eisenberg . Konstantin Morozov, 48, brought his son, Daniel Morozov, to a friend’s apartment, and police found them after receiving a tip, Eisenberg said. The elder Morozov, who was suspected of fatally shooting Daniel ’s mother and then abducting the boy Monday in Santa Maria in northern Santa Barbara County , emerged from the apartment and confronted officers, prompting an officer-involved shooting, Eisenberg said. The apartment shooting took place off of Woodmere Boulevard at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. A Montgomery man was fatally shot in the Woodmere at the Lake apartment complex off Woodmere Boulevard Thursday night , the Montgomery Advertiser reports . According to the report, police arrived on the scene at 1400 Stonehendge Place at 4:30 p.m. to find a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene, making the shooting Montgomery 's 24th homicide of the year.  Montgomery Police Department spokesman Captain Ron Cook told the newspaper that a couple pulled into the apartment, got out of their car and began arguing with another couple. The woman from the couple at the apartment then went inside of an apartment to get a gun, according to the report.
