A suspect and two witnesses in a Friday shooting in Benton City have fled the state. The Benton County Sheriff ’s Office said in a news release that Christian Michael Hernandez , 24, is headed to Southern California. Jazmin Marie Torres , 25, and Francisco Morales Jr ., 24, are said to be with him. Hernandez is suspected of shooting Mariah Renee Coronado , 22. The woman was shot in the back with a rifle and found in her apartment. Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Brockman said deputies spoke to Coronado on Saturday and that “everything’s pointing to it being an accident.” However, Brockman said, Hernandez is a convicted felon. That automatically bars him from touching a gun. An acquaintance picked up Coronado from her apartment at 703 8th Street and rushed her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center . She’s still being treated for her injuries. Sheriff Jerry Hatcher said that Hernandez, also known as “Phat Boy” or “Lil Criminal,” fled in a 2012 beige Chevy Malibu sedan with a temporary license plate . ...

LAFAYETTE, Ind. ( WLFI ) — A tragic accident had a 2-year-old Lafayette boy fighting for his life. He wasn’t alone in his battle. Logan Vanderkleed ’s family said Logan felt the love as he took his last breath on Wednesday. Logan Vanderkleed loved to say his prayers. “Amen,” he said in a home video taken back in April. He learned how to pray from his parents, but sometimes it felt like he was the teacher. “It’s crazy coming from a 2-year-old,” Logan’s mother, Lisa Vanderkleed, said. “He was always encouraging us to pray in the morning if we forgot in the rush of the morning.” The Vanderkleeds turned to prayer, and so did thousands of others after Logan accidentally rolled up the car window on his neck on Aug. 17, leaving his brain without oxygen for too long. A Hopkinsville man was charged with first- degree robbery in connection with an August 16th robbery on Oak Tree Villa Drive . Mikale J. Swindler, 18, and Martres L. Washington-Day, 20, told police Demarquavion T. Merritt, 19, who was armed with a handgun and walked up behind their vehicle and got into a fight with them before he robbed them, according to Hopkinsville police. Police said the robbery led them to charge Swindler and Washington-Day with trafficking in marijuana (under 5 lbs.) and possession of drug paraphernalia after they were allegedly found to have 1,460.5 grams of marijuana, $2,863.00, two AR-15 rifles, loaded magazines, ammunition, digital scales and electronic packaging devices in the apartment.

These luxury apartments have many nice characteristics, such as 9 foot ceilings, large rooms, in-home laundry, crown moulding, and large storage rooms . With the underground large garage with ample secure parking , this place met all our requirements. As with most things, there are a few down sides. Frequent false fire alarms plagued the complex for months, but they seemed to have that under control now. The apartment complex is next to the CalTrain tracks. But with the double pain thick windows , the noise is not bad. Plus we like trains, so to be able to look out the rear bedroom windows and see trains going by is an attractive point for us. SALINA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Salina woman has been charged with having sex with a 12-year-old boy. KSN’s news partner KSAL reports that Lenora Dyke, 18, has been booked into jail. Police Captain Paul Forrester told KSAL News that authorities learned about an incident that allegedly occurred August 14 between Dyke and the 12-year-old boy at her Chapel Ridge Apartment from the boy’s mother. Police said the boy met Dyke through his older brother. According to authorities, Dyke used private Facebook messages to send nude photos of herself to the victim and got him to come to her apartment. A teen received life -threatening injuries after he accidentally shot himself in the face in Avondale on Monday night, Birmingham police said. The shooting took place inside an apartment in the Tom Brown Village housing authority , Lt. Sean Edwards said. Police received a call from the 4100 block of Messer Airport Highway about the 16-year-old victim around 10:39 p.m. The teen has been taken to the hospital. Officers are still investigating the scene. No additional information was released.

Bibb County sheriff ’s deputies are investigating a reported shooting early Monday in north Macon. Just before 1 a.m., officers were called to the Arbors Apartments at 3901 Northside Drive . Andrea Hawkins, 19, of Macon was wounded, but is expected to survive. According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff ’s Office, Hawkins was arguing with her roommates when a man arrived and joined in the argument. He left and got a long rifle from his car and shot at Hawkins, who was standing on the balcony with her roommates. She was shot in the right leg and was taken to Medical Center, Navicent Health, in stable condition. The gunmen left in a gold vehicle, but no further information was available about the make and model.
