City Council members found themselves divided in their answers on Tuesday, but scraped together just enough votes to keep alive a rental housing building planned for the edge of Old Town. Two months after the Planning Commission rejected the Bridgeview Apartments, a split council revived the project on a 3-2 vote despite concerns it would worsen parking and traffic on the narrow streets around Riverside Drive. The vote sets up a final decision by the council on approving the apartments, a move that will require finalizing an agreement with its developer to set aside three units for families earning less than the local median income and guarantee that other tenants can continue using federally funded Section 8 vouchers to pay their rent. According to police spokesman Charles Francis , investigators confiscated a total 68 grams of marijuana, .3 grams of cocaine, two pistols and $300 in cash from two apartments in the searches. A child was found in one of the apartments, Francis said. Two children were found in the other. Police charged Rasheed Blake , 21, of Eagle Drive in North Charleston, with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful conduct toward a child. Eugene J. Campbell, 38, of North Romney Street , is charged with two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine. ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Authorities in Lehigh County have arrested a 44-year-old who allegedly broke into a house and stole TVs from a senior housing complex and an apartment building over a roughly five-day span. Allentown police charged Alex Fernandez , no confirmable address, in connection with the 2016 thefts from a Jackson Street home , Episcopal House and Bridgeview Apartments . District Judge David Howells Jr . arraigned Fernandez early Wednesday morning on three sets of charges, setting bail at a combined $38,000. A homeowner in the 900 block of Jackson Street reported to police that someone broke into his house sometime between April 27 and May 2, 2016, by climbing a rear fire escape and breaking a window, according to court records. The thief made off with a compressor and hammer drill worth about $1,100 and caused $150 in damage, according to records. BRIDGEVIEW, IL — Updated 3:19 p.m. -- Harlem Avenue between 81st and 95th Streets has been reopened after Bridgeview police and other nearby police departments spent several hours searching for a robbery suspect. Police were unable to locate the suspect and it's unknown at this time if officers have called off their search. The incident unfolded shortly before noon Thursday when a person was robbed on the property of the Salvation Army and Donation Center at 90th Street and Harlem Avenue.
