A suspect and two witnesses in a Friday shooting in Benton City have fled the state. The Benton County Sheriff ’s Office said in a news release that Christian Michael Hernandez , 24, is headed to Southern California. Jazmin Marie Torres , 25, and Francisco Morales Jr ., 24, are said to be with him. Hernandez is suspected of shooting Mariah Renee Coronado , 22. The woman was shot in the back with a rifle and found in her apartment. Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Brockman said deputies spoke to Coronado on Saturday and that “everything’s pointing to it being an accident.” However, Brockman said, Hernandez is a convicted felon. That automatically bars him from touching a gun. An acquaintance picked up Coronado from her apartment at 703 8th Street and rushed her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center . She’s still being treated for her injuries. Sheriff Jerry Hatcher said that Hernandez, also known as “Phat Boy” or “Lil Criminal,” fled in a 2012 beige Chevy Malibu sedan with a temporary license plate . ...

ALTUS, OK (KSWO)- George Butler, 18 of Altus, has been arrested- police believe he is responsible for a shooting on May 30th. Butler was arrested Friday night on a warrant for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. On June 5th, the weapon used in the shooting was recovered from a home on North Julian Street . There was a shooting at Ridgecrest Apartments in Altus the evening of May 30th around 9:00 p.m. Altus Police responded to reports that a man was shot. Two victims arrived at an area hospital by private vehicle a short time later. According to investigators, a man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in a breezeway of the Union Circle Apartments following a physical altercation between the suspect and victims. A juvenile also received injuries to his hands. The condition of the victims is unknown at this time. Their identities have not been released. A 24-year-old man is wanted for questioning in the Friday evening shooting of a woman at a Benton City apartment . Christian M. Hernandez has been named as a “person of interest” by the Benton County Sheriff ’s Office. Hernandez, who’s also known as “Lil Criminal” and “Phat Boy,” is believed to be armed and dangerous. He is suspected of shooting Mariah Coronado in the back with a rifle. Coronado, 22, was inside the apartment at Eighth Street and Della Avenue with several other people when she was shot, Sheriff Jerry Hatcher has said. He initially said that investigators weren’t sure if the shooting was accidental or intentional. Coronado was picked up by an acquaintance and driven to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, according to an update from the sheriff’s office. Deputies responded to the hospital after being alerted by medical staff about a gunshot victim. She is still being treated for her injuries. GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Police in a New York City suburb have charged three teenagers in connection with a fatal shooting. The Journal News reports (http://lohud.us/2ijQUR5 ) a 16-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offenses including first-degree manslaughter. The teen's 18-year-old brother and another 18-year-old man both face charges of criminal possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence. Police say the three teens were involved in the fatal shooting of Joseph Smith III , of Greenburgh. Investigators say Smith was shot to death in the stairwell of a Greenburgh apartment complex Thursday . Police say the Smith was targeted by the suspects. According to authorities, police recovered a gun at the apartment of one of the suspects after obtaining a search warrant. There has been a reported shooting at the Whispering Pines Apartment Complex Tuesday night according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff ’s Department. One man was shot after two suspects reportedly attacked him while leaving his vehicle. Deputies and a K-9 unit were sent to the area in search for the two suspects. The Conway Police Department responded to a shooting at Chapel Ridge Apartments Friday afternoon . The call came in around 2:30 p.m. LaTresha Woodruff, spokesman for the Conway Police Department , said the victim reported he had come to an apartment at the complex to buy some drugs, and in the process of the transaction, the people in the apartment started shooting at him. The victim ran out of the apartment and across the drive to another apartment where he knocked on a door and no one answered. At the second door he knocked on, someone let him in and called 911, Woodruff said. The victim was shot multiple times and was taken to the hospital. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but he was being transferred to a Little Rock hospital for treatment, Woodruff said.
