GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - People who just moved into The Pavilion on 62nd do not want to live there anymore. TV-20 covered the story over the weekend of one young man who was able to break his lease at the Gainesville apartment complex . His would-be roommate can't seem to catch the same break. The people who work at The Pavilion on 62nd said they do not terminate leases, but on move in day, Herman Younger broke his lease. Alexander Hammond, Younger's would-be roommate, wants to break his lease too, but the apartment managers will not let him. "I walked in expecting a clean house and what I paid for and I come into the house and there's basically someone sleeping on the couch," Hammond said. Spokesperson for The Pavilion on 62nd Bob Hetherington said, "The sleeping gentleman was in fact the brother of one of the apartment roommates." The construction was opposed by neighbors who complained of noise, crime and unruly behavior at several hundred apartments built in recent years. A man sneaked up on a woman from behind at a Gainesville apartment complex , hit her on the head with a glass bottle and demanded money, cops said, reports The Gainesville Sun. The robber probably thought the little dog, Coco, a 7-year-old Chihuahua that the woman was walking, presented no threat to him. But Coco rose to the occasion and took a bite out of crime: she sank her little itty bitty teeth into the man's leg, causing him to hightail it to some nearby woods, according to the report. The website that first reported suspensions for seven Florida players has a new report about the case, and it could be more bad news for the football team. The Read Optional reported Thursday , citing sources, that Gators defensive end Jordan Smith is “alleged to have used stolen credit card information to pay rent.” The story, authored by Trey Wallace and Oliver Connolly, reads: “A Chicago- based apartment company has filed a complaint to the universities’ compliance department, accusing Smith of paying $1,000 in rent at a Gainesville apartment complex with a credit card listed under a different name. “He’s a very, very good dog,” said Coco's owner. Deborah Strange @DeborahJStrange The robber might have thought little Coco, a 7-year-old Chihuahua, wouldn’t cause him any trouble when he assaulted the woman taking the dog for a walk. And he would have been wrong.  Gainesville police say a man about 5 feet, 9 inches tall approached the woman from behind as she walked Coco at Bivens Cove Apartments , at 3301 SW 13th St ., around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The robber struck her on the head with a glass bottle and demanded money.  Coco, a brown dog with graying fur on his muzzle and around his eyes, bit the robber’s leg, and the man fled into the nearby woods. GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Thieves beware - this Chihuahua may be little but he won't mess around if you threaten his owner. Gainesville Police say 7-year-old Coco was out with his owner this week when a robber approached them from behind as they walked near their apartment complex, struck her over the head with a glass bottle and demanded money. Little Coco bit the man's leg, sending him running into nearby woods. The woman, who did not want to be identified for safety reasons, suffered a bruise on her temple. The dog actually belongs to her caretaker who lives with her. Coco was rewarded with lots of treats. The Gainesville Sun reports the dog had been abused before being rescued four years ago. Things seem to be getting even more ugly in Gainesville as two freshmen players have reportedly been cited for drug use in their on-campus apartment. The players were cited Monday according to Matthew Head and Neal Bennett of WTLV. According to their report,  freshmen Ventrell Miller and James Robinson were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Robinson, you may recall, was cited for drug use at Ohio State last winter during his recruitment. That incident resulted in several programs backing off from their interest in him, however, Florida obviously took another route. Robinson was rated a four-star recruit and the No. 19 overall receiver prospect in the nation during the last recruiting cycle according to 247Sports. He arrived late to Gainesville after he was cleared to enter school late in the summer.
