With the help of police, residents of the 300-unit complex say they were able to move the dumpsters blocking a single-lane road that cuts through the woods surrounding the complex. An investigation was underway Monday after a security guard was found shot to death in Marina Del Rey , according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff ’s Department. Authorities investigate a homicide in the 4200 block of Via Marina Court in Marina Del Rey on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. A security guard found shot to death outside an upscale apartment complex in Marina del Rey has been identified as a South Los Angeles man . Patrick Odoikyene, 47, was discovered in a parking lot early Monday with multiple gunshot wounds , according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff ’s Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation by sheriff's homicide detectives continued Tuesday . According to a statement from the sheriff's department, witnesses heard multiple gunshots and saw a man “wearing dark clothing and a dark hooded sweatshirt” running from the scene.   In an email sent Monday to residents of the Shores apartments, management identified the victim as a “courtesy patrol” team member. A Stillwater apartment complex that opened last fall has no plans of slowing down.  Prime Place Apartments is constructing a new complex on the corner of Elm and Duck streets, which will be move-in ready in the fall.  The $20 million structure is bringing a modern style of living that no other apartment complex in Stillwater has provided before, said Blake Franklin, property manager.  In addition to the traditional apartment layout , the new complex will feature studio efficiency apartments as well as loft apartments.  The studio efficiency apartments will include kitchen, bath and living areas all for a low cost, Franklin said.  The prices of a studio apartment range from $675 to $800 for each bedroom, per month.  Electric, water, trash, cable and Internet are included in the total rent of all units.  With the loft apartments, renters will have the choice of a one bedroom, two bedroom or studio loft, Franklin said.  “(Lofts) will have a bedroom and a living room downstairs and ...

The manhunt continued Thursday for the shooter who killed a 22-year-old man at an apartment complex near the University of Central Florida on Wednesday. Colin Marcel Jackson was identified Thursday as the man found dead inside an apartment at Campus Crossing Alafaya about 6:30 p.m., officials said. "Witnesses reported seeing the victim and an unknown black male involved in an altercation prior to hearing the shots," said Lourdes Clayton, spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff 's Office. Jackson was not a UCF student and it's unclear if he lived in the apartment complex, officials said. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. SAN ANTONIO - A woman who moved to a North Side community to escape crime is feeling disappointed. She said crime has increased in the area. The latest incident is a shooting that happened at her apartment complex over the weekend. The Avana Stone Canyon Apartments are located on Encino Commons just off Highway 281. The resident, who has lived at the apartment complex for years, was afraid to reveal her identity but still wanted to voice her concerns about crime in the whole area.  "When I first moved here the gate was always closed. We had individual numbers. The lights were always lit. It was a good community base ," she said. The woman believes things have gone downhill. She headed for the exit with the rest of her neighbors at Lakeside Village , a three- story apartment complex at 4370 Lakeside Circle . Fobear lives three doors down from where the fire started. "I just saw the door open and flames," she said. "Two people were trying to put them out." SCOTTSDALE, AZ - A Scottsdale man is charged with attempted murder after ramming his car several times into his estranged wife’s car outside of an apartment complex Wednesday night . Police were called to the La Privada at Scottsdale Ranch apartment complex near Mountain View Road and Via Linda around 9 p.m. According to a Scottsdale police spokesperson , Ji Song Lee was involved in an altercation with his wife at the apartment complex . His wife attempted to leave after Lee allegedly became aggressive and threatening. As the woman was driving out of the parking lot, Lee followed the victim in his car and rammed into her’s multiple times , officials said. At one point the woman lost control of her car and crashed into the landscaping. Afterwards, Lee continued to run into her car on the driver’s side.
