UPPER WEST SIDE , NY — About 20 pounds of heroin and fentanyl were seized after federal, state and city law enforcement agencies raided an Central Park West apartment doubling as a drug mill, the New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced Monday . Four men are facing charges for operating a heroin and fentanyl packaging operation out of the apartment following the sting led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration ’s, NYPD, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the New York State Police . On Friday law enforcement officers were conducting surveillance on 448 Central Park west — located across from Central Park near West 105th Street — when they observed a man exit the building carrying two boxes and enter an Uber car, officials told Patch . GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Police in a New York City suburb have charged three teenagers in connection with a fatal shooting. The Journal News reports (http://lohud.us/2ijQUR5 ) a 16-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offenses including first-degree manslaughter. The teen's 18-year-old brother and another 18-year-old man both face charges of criminal possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence. Police say the three teens were involved in the fatal shooting of Joseph Smith III , of Greenburgh. Investigators say Smith was shot to death in the stairwell of a Greenburgh apartment complex Thursday . Police say the Smith was targeted by the suspects. According to authorities, police recovered a gun at the apartment of one of the suspects after obtaining a search warrant. NEW YORK -- Federal agents say they seized 20 pounds of fentanyl and heroin in an Aug. 4 raid of an apartment building in New York City's Upper West Side neighborhood , across the street from Central Park, reports CBS New York. The drugs are valued at more than $3 million, according to investigators.   Drug Enforcement Administration Special -Agent-in- Charge James Hunt said that much fentanyl could prove deadly to a large population if handled improperly. "Twenty pounds of fentanyl in its purest form is potent enough to kill half the population of New York City," Hunt said. "So it's not good to have in a residential building, obviously. Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says Curtis Sell was charged Wednesday with three counts of burglary with sexual motivation in connection with the break-ins and failure to register as a sex offender. Lindquist says police responded to a Lakewood apartment building Aug . 2 where a woman reported that she awoke to a naked man removing the fan from her bedroom window. She told police after she screamed and her boyfriend came in the room, the man ran away. Lindquist says that morning investigators were called to other nearby residences where two other women reported similar stories . A “person of interest” in the recent shooting of a woman at a Benton City apartment was arrested Thursday in Pasco. Christian M. Hernandez, 24, was picked up at 6:30 p.m. by the Benton County sheriff ’s gang enforcement team . Hernandez, who’s also known as “Lil Criminal” and “Phat Boy,” is being held on investigation of illegal gun possession and a hold from the state Department of Corrections. Mariah Coronado, 22, was shot in the back Aug. 18 at an apartment at Eighth Street and Della Avenue. Several other people were in the apartment at the time. Investigators have said it wasn’t clear if the shooting was an accident. Coronado was picked up by an acquaintance and driven to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Deputies responded to the hospital after being alerted by medical staff about a gunshot victim. Hernandez is a convicted felon who is not allowed to own or be in control of a gun. An investigation into a possible robbery led police to an alleged arranged drug deal that landed one man in the hospital and three in jail.   Milledgeville Police were called to Oconee Regional Medical Center around 7:12 p.m. Tuesday to speak with a recently admitted patient , claiming to have been injured during a basketball game.  “ Hospital staff advised officers of a young male arriving at the hospital at 4:45 p.m., showing signs of a head injury. According to the staff there, the victim told them that he had gotten injured while playing basketball with friends,” said Maj. The manhunt continued Thursday for the shooter who killed a 22-year-old man at an apartment complex near the University of Central Florida on Wednesday. Colin Marcel Jackson was identified Thursday as the man found dead inside an apartment at Campus Crossing Alafaya about 6:30 p.m., officials said. "Witnesses reported seeing the victim and an unknown black male involved in an altercation prior to hearing the shots," said Lourdes Clayton, spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff 's Office. Jackson was not a UCF student and it's unclear if he lived in the apartment complex, officials said. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Jackson's criminal history includes a Dec. 30 arrest at same apartment complex on the following charges: aggravated assault with a firearm, armed burglary of dwelling with a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.
